Rebecca Straus
Rebecca Straus’ signature design is rooted in a love of anthropology and inspired by the relationship between objects found in nature and ritual as a symbolic art. She studied Aztec traditional jewelry making in San Miguel de Aliende in Mexico, and her journeys to South America and Asia are strongly present in her designs.
Her work mimics organic forms while elegantly commenting upon the calculated randomness of beauty in nature. She works predominantly in gold and accents her work with diamonds, sapphires, rubies, and semi-precious stones for a brilliant effect. A native of Berkeley, California, and a graduate of Skidmore College, Rebecca lives and works in Boston, Massachusetts.
